Planning is underway as this venue will provide the perfect setting for a poker tournament, with official poker tables that have seen the likes and play of such notable Pokers stars as Phil Ivey, Scotty Nguyen, Daniel Negreanu, Barry Greenstein, and Jennifer Harman, and even celebrities turned poker stars like Ben Affleck, Jennifer Tilly, Shannon Elizabeth and Jerry Buss to name a few.
This charity tournament will offer a chance at great prizes, such as premiere tickets to a Dodgers home game, tickets to a suite at the Staples Center, $500 shopping sprees to the Citadel Outlets, and lots of other great tickets and special prizes.
The Commerce Casino will provide professional tables and card decks with professional dealers. Texas Hold’em Tournament rules will apply, and unlimited re-buys for the half of the tournament will be in effect.

The Commerce Casino has taken a leadership role in the community surrounding the hotel/casino complex, which employs 2,400 people in the region and pumps more than $15 million into the local tax base. The Casino funds an annual Christmas program for disadvantaged children in the City of Commerce. Two youth groups that benefit significantly from Commerce Casino’s largesse are the Rio Hondo Boys and Girls Club, as well as the Montebello-Commerce YMCA.
The Commerce Casino also plays a role with the Sheriff’s Youth Foundation, providing contributions that support toys for children as part of a holiday program, activities and centers serving at-risk youth and the organization’s annual golf shoot-out and dinner. Another law enforcement initiative that Commerce Casino supports is the California Highway Patrol CHP11-99, an organization that provides aid to families of fallen officers, including college scholarships and family financial assistance.

Established in 1998, Help the Children is a non-profit humanitarian relief organization dedicated to help alleviate the suffering of children and their families here in Los Angeles County, throughout the United States, and around the world.
