MMi Roots
Our company was founded on March 3, 1986 by William Rivera who utilized his engineering, technology and direct mail expertise to formulate Mini-Mailers, Inc. (MMi). William was first exposed to the direct mail industry through his brother, Julio Rivera, whom at that time was Founder and President of Pacific Direct Mail Services, Inc. – a company doing over $12MM in annual sales and employing over 200 people.
Prior to MMi, William worked for the Ralph M. Parsons Company (Saudi Arabia) as a Lead Planning Engineer. His role consisted of supervising four engineers and producing computer generated construction schedules for one of the largest projects in Saudi Arabia.
The Early Times
While working overseas, William was able to save enough money to open MMi’s first office – a 200 square foot room in his brother’s building. The first twelve months of business were dedicated to studying and planning the future of MMi…to be one of the most advanced letter shops in the nation.
To achieve this, William spent many hours in identifying the best procedure, policies and production equipment available to process mailings quickly and efficiently. And in October 1987, MMi moved to a larger facility within Los Angeles – a 2.0K square feet building.
A Company On The Rise
In just 2 years of operation, MMi increased their client base by 400%...forcing MMi to relocate to an even larger facility, which doubled its current facility to 4.0K square feet.
In August 1989 and to better serve the Orange County market, MMi opened an office in Irvine. Like the Los Angeles facility, the Irvine facility experienced tremendous growth and in March 1997, relocated the Irvine office to a 12.0K square foot facility.
With the economy showing long awaited improvement, MMi again had to move both locations in 1999 and relocated the Los Angeles office in 2007.
MMi Gets Certified, Compliant & Goes Digital
On August 1, 2003, MMi became an ISO 9001-2000 Certified Company, the new quality standard issued in 2002 by the International Organization for Standards (ISO). MMi always received SAS 70 and HIPPA compliancy making MMi among the first Direct Mail companies in California to hold these prestigious certification and compliances.
In June 2006, MMi opened Imago Digital, also in the Irvine Spectrum. This NEW division and third location specializes in Variable Data Printing for highly personalized documents and Direct Mail pieces. In addition, Imago Digital’s Web to Print (W2P) allows its customers to design, personalize, proof and submit from any web-enabled computer. Imago Digital also offers complete ROI Marketing solutions and Personalized URL campaigns.
