A Little More About MELA Counseling Services Center, Inc.

MELA is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization providing services in the Greater Los Angeles area since 1993.

MELA is beginning a new program called “The Business Connection” which works with employers needing assistance for their employees in the fields of substance abuse (alcohol and drug abuse), anger management, emotional healing for men, parenting education, health education in the areas including HIV/AIDS, STD’s, T.B. Collateral services with family or significant others are available to support the client.

MELA also provides pre-employment and random drug testing as needed.

ALL SERVICES ARE CONFIDENTIAL.

Services include individual and group counseling, random drug testing, A.A. support groups and N.A. support groups for women. Social activities are a part of the program.

Services are provided for youth and adults at local schools and at our location in East Los Angeles across from the Commerce Commercial Center on Whittier Blvd.  Child care is provided while clients are in counseling sessions.

Services can be provided at the employers location with a group of six clients or more.

Fees are covered by Medi-Cal, Non-Medi-Cal, General Relief, CalWorks, Prop 36, fundraisers and private donations. MELA also used a sliding scale fee.
