Rep. Roybal-Allard Reminds #CA40 Students of October 30th Deadline For U.S. Service Academy Nominations

Downey, CA – Today, U.S. Representative Lucile Roybal-Allard (CA-40) is reminding students in California’s 40th Congressional District that the deadline to apply for Rep. Roybal-Allard’s nomination to enroll in one of the five United States service academies is October 30, 2021. Each year, Rep. Roybal-Allard accepts applications for nominations to the U.S. Military Academy (West Point), the U.S. Naval Academy, the U.S. Air Force Academy, the U.S. Coast Guard Academy, and the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy. Applications for nominations are free of cost and all students interested in enrollment at service academies are encouraged to apply.
“Over the years, I’ve been proud to nominate many outstanding 40th District students for enrollment in our nation’s prestigious service academies,” said Rep. Roybal-Allard. “Enrollment in a service academy provides a free college education in return for five years of military service as a commissioned officer following graduation. I’m always thrilled to review applications and to learn from our ambitious, driven students their reasons for applying. I encourage all interested students across the district to read the application instructions carefully and submit their applications for nominations well ahead of the October 30th deadline.”
Interested students must complete Rep. Roybal-Allard’s Nomination Request Form and follow additional instructions for applications found on Rep. Roybal-Allard's website prior to the October 30 deadline. Students, teachers, and parents may direct any additional questions to cynthia.morales@mail.house.gov.
