Eastside Transit Corridor Phase 2 project - Review and provide comments on the Draft EIR
July 28, 2022Metro is proposing to extend the L Line (Gold) further east from its current terminus at Pomona Bl and Atlantic Bl in East Los Angeles. This extension would serve the cities of Commerce, Montebello, Pico Rivera, Santa Fe Springs and Whittier and the unincorporated communities of East Los Angeles and West Whittier-Los Nietos.
The Draft Environmental Impact Report (EIR) for the Eastside Transit Corridor Phase 2 project is available for public review and comment for 60 days through August 29, 2022. This milestone document evaluates the proposed alternatives, as well as their potential impacts and mitigation measures. Metro is conducting public hearings in-person on July 21 (completed), 30, August 17 or virtual on Aug. 11 with a livestreaming site in Pico Rivera. The hearings will present key findings on the Draft EIR and offer opportunities for the public to submit formal oral comments.
