FMUSDF Annual Service to Education Awards
Extraordinary Times, Extraordinary Efforts, Extraordinary People
The Friends of the Montebello Unified School District Foundation (FMUSDF) are proud to announce this year’s “Annual Service to Education Awards.”  Being honored on Sunday, October 11, will be two groups of district personnel who are exemplary examples of the year’s theme: “Extraordinary Times, Extraordinary Efforts, Extraordinary People.
First, employees of the MUSD Nutrition Services Department with the support of the Transportation Department are true heroes on the front lines.  Under very restrictive and changing conditions they safely and efficiently provided nutritious meals and excellent customer service to parents for their children staying at home during the school closures due to the COVID 19 pandemic.
Second, the FMUSDF is proud to recognize MUSD personnel who have acted to support the implementation of instructional technology and the use of Chromebooks in support of distance learning while school is conducted through virtual learning.  The work of these “Google Ambassadors” has been a timely and valuable service.
Due to these extraordinary times, the FMUSDF Annual Awards program will be held as a virtual streaming event Sunday, October 11, 2020 at 4:00 p.m.  The program will include:

    • Recognizing the Nutrition Services staff and Google Ambassadors
    • Recorded musical performances by MSUD students
    • Introduction of recent scholarship recipients of the FMUSDF
    • On-line Auction
The funds raised during the auction will provide student scholarships and help to support the performing arts and other educational programs and needs of the MUSD.  The auction will include many fun and valuable items donated just for this event, including unique art, gift baskets and personal enrichment opportunities.
Since 2015, the FMUSDF, has awarded over $180,000 to MUSD schools and students.  In challenging times like these, your support means more than ever.
